Sony Surprises Subscribers with a Strong Lineup in August
After months of middling offerings that genuinely made me question whether this subscription was worth it, Sony finally announced August's PlayStation Plus roster — and there are actually games here worth caring about. I don't say that lightly, but this month feels different.
Here's the deal: subscribers across all service tiers (Extra, Extra Pro, and Premium) will find at least one game actually worth downloading and playing. There's also a special bundle aimed at Marvel fans, which is something we haven't really seen from Sony before.
Why This Actually Matters
To be honest with you, PlayStation Plus was heading toward boring territory. The previous months brought decent games, sure, but nothing that got anyone excited. August feels like a genuine attempt from Sony to remind subscribers that there's actual value in what they're paying for every month.
The real question though: will this continue? Or is August just an exception before we slip back into the same old routine? I'm hoping Sony's serious this time around.
My Recommendation
I'd suggest any subscriber who hasn't checked the service in a while log in this month and see what's there. And if you've been on the fence about renewing because of past disappointments, this month might actually change your mind — at least for now.
