Saros – Housemarque's New PS5 Shooter Coming in 2026

Saros — Finally, It's Here

Look, I've been waiting for this game the same way I wait for any major Housemarque release, and now I'm gonna be straight with you about it. Saros is a brand-new shooter dropping on April 30, 2026 exclusively on PlayStation 5, and I'm confident it's gonna be one of those surprises worth your attention if you're into fast-paced action.

Story: A Lone Investigator on a Lost World

You play as Argon Defrag, an elite operative from the Soltari class — basically someone trained to handle the dangerous stuff nobody else wants to touch. Your mission is straightforward and brutal: investigate a missing space colony on a planet called Carcosa. The planet itself is mysterious and hostile, and what's waiting for you there is anything but friendly. Don't expect some deep, complex narrative here — this is a game built on movement and combat, not lengthy storytelling.

Gameplay: Lightning-Fast Combat and Relentless Challenges

Saros is a third-person shooter, and speed is everything. You're fighting quick enemies, taking on brutal boss encounters, and pushing through run after run. Yeah, you're gonna die. You're gonna fail. And you're gonna try again — that's literally part of the design. Every attempt teaches you something, you figure out the enemy patterns, and you refine your strategy. The pacing is absolutely relentless, and if you're not into games that demand quick reflexes and intense focus, you might find yourself frustrated.

What Did the Critics Say?

The reviewers gave it a 90 out of 100 — and that's no random number. That's telling you this game is legit good, that Housemarque actually pulled off what they were going for. Critics praised the speed, the challenge, and how polished and solid the design is across the board.

Who Should Play This?

I'd recommend Saros if you love games that demand real skill, and if you're cool with dying plenty of times before you crack the code. If you're into fast shooters and intense combat, this is your game. But if you're looking for a deep story or something chill and relaxing, I'm not gonna lie to you — Saros isn't your best bet.
