Kingdom Hearts 4 Trailer Confirms It: The Game Is 100% Coming in 2027

Finally We Got What We Were Waiting For: Kingdom Hearts 4 Has a Date and the Details Are Real

Square Enix didn't leave us hanging yesterday. After the official announcement about Kingdom Hearts 4 launching in late 2027, the full trailer dropped today to confirm that this date is 100% locked in according to Nomura himself. No excuses, no "it might get delayed"—this is coming straight from the guy who's been steering this franchise since day one.

The trailer heavily focuses on a new world inspired by the Coco film, and honestly that gets me excited because games always shine when they adapt Disney films with both precision and creativity at the same time. The graphics looked stunning and vibrant, and that warm, emotional vibe from the movie really came through. But that wasn't all—we also caught glimpses of the real Shibuya (that real-world location the company had been hyping in their ads) and it's giving me the feeling that this game is going to blend wild fantasy with reality in a way the previous entries haven't done before.

Is Waiting Until 2027 Worth It?

Honestly, if you're a Kingdom Hearts fan, yeah. But don't hold your breath for 2025 or 2026. Nomura said what he said, and the date is late 2027. That probably means fall or winter 2027, which is far off but at least we know we won't get blindsided by another delay (not anytime soon anyway).

The game looks ambitious in terms of scale and the different worlds you'll explore. If you love Kingdom Hearts and want a fresh experience that still keeps the core formula intact, this is a safe bet for you. But if you're already burned out on the series or you hate convoluted storylines, this probably won't change your mind.

Bottom Line

My advice? Wait for it if you were already a Kingdom Hearts lover. The date is clear, info's starting to roll out, and there's no reason to stress about delays right now. But don't expect anything soon—2027 is a long way off, and that's plenty of time to find something else to play in the meantime.
