Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 — A Game That Knows How to Love the Franchise and Have Fun With It

Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 Isn't Trying to Change the World — But It Knows What It Wants

Honestly? This is exactly the kind of game you play on a regular night with friends, kill an hour or two without demanding any emotional investment. And that's not a criticism — truthfully, sometimes you need this kind of game.

The Team Actually Understands What They're Doing With This Franchise

What really impressed me is that the developers respected the original vision of Aliens. They didn't try to reinvent the wheel or turn the game into something completely detached from the films. The atmosphere is there, the feeling is there, and the enemy — the xenomorph — feels genuinely dangerous because these creatures just keep coming. The levels on planet LV-558 carry the weight of the franchise without ever feeling like a cheap knockoff.

That said, I expected a bit more variety in mission types and gameplay patterns. As a co-op shooter, Fireteam Elite 2 delivers what you already know — gun down waves, complete some straightforward objectives, win the day. There aren't any bold surprises here.

Who's This For? And When I Don't Recommend It

I highly recommend it if you're looking for a casual co-op experience, or if you're a true Aliens fan who just wants to sit in that universe again. If you've got a crew of friends and want a shared experience without the pressure, this is an excellent choice.

I don't recommend it if you're hunting for innovation, deep storytelling, or revolutionary gameplay mechanics. If you're expecting a full-fat disc release with 50 hours of content, you might end up disappointed.

Bottom Line — A Fun Return to Familiar Territory

Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 isn't going to revolutionize the gaming industry. But it understands what makes Aliens great and delivers it authentically. I'm excited to see what's waiting for us on LV-558 in the coming weeks, and right now I'm looking forward to the moment I sit down with my friends for a few hours of this.
