Legends Return: Mage and Changeling Come Back After Vampire 6

Get Ready: Vampire Won't Be the Only World

We finally got a straight answer about what the Vampire: The Masquerade team is planning after they wrap up the sixth edition. And honestly, it's great news for players who've forgotten—or never experienced—the other World of Darkness universes in the first place. Mage: The Ascension and Changeling: The Dreaming are coming back, and maybe even Vampire: The Dark Ages.

What Does This Actually Mean?

In my opinion, this is a big announcement because it shows Renegade Games isn't betting everything on Vampire alone. They want to revive the entire system. But I've got to be real here: success comes down to execution. I've seen old franchises make comebacks myself, and they've ended in disappointment when the new team didn't get what made the original game special.

Mage and Changeling aren't just two extra games. The first was about wars between mages and the Enlightened—complex and philosophical. The second was about fairies and dreams—weird, artistic, and heartbreaking. If they mess up the artistic and spiritual foundation, they're just going to be another pair of products on the shelf.

Who Should Care About This?

I strongly recommend this for anyone craving a return to the full World of Darkness experience—for tabletop RPG players and true fans of the universe. But if you're looking for something shallow and lightweight, this probably isn't what you're after.

Real talk: Can Renegade actually be trusted to honor the original legacy? That's the question we really need answered.
